Originally released in 1987, A Momentary Lapse Of Reason was remixed and updated for The Later Years, restoring the creative balance between David Gilmour, Nick Mason, and Richard Wright while revisiting the album from the original master tapes.
This Deluxe CD + Blu-ray edition features the remixed and updated album on CD, plus Blu-ray bonus material and high-resolution stereo and 5.1 audio. The set also includes a 40-page booklet and an envelope containing six exclusive stickers designed by Peter Curzon from StormStudios.
For fans choosing between formats, this is the premium high-resolution version of the deluxe edition. The remixed and updated album is also available separately on CD, Deluxe CD + DVD, and 180g 2LP vinyl.

The overall sound quality is better than the original. I have not had a chance to listem to the 5.1 version as of yet so I can not comment. I am not as pleased with the additions/changes that were made to some of the songs. They do not seem to blend as well as the originals and I thought they were fine as they were.
