I have to admit that the quality of this box set is worth the price. Audiophiles would love this box set's audio output. The remastered DSOTM sound is top notch and the various other goodies included make purchasing this box set worth it. Pink Floyd outdid themselves with this commemorative edition.

If you're considering this, it's because you're a Pink Floyd fan, so the price should not factor in, right? The LPs sound wonderful, with no surface noise on my mid-grade setup anyway. Everything else is as you would expect, and mostly have their meaning to the collector / fan. That's you. Get this when they restock. I should also give props to Musictoday customer service. USPS really had a field day with my shipment. It arrived damaged. Without hesitation, I was sent a replacement and a return label. The replacement arrived in good condition, but for some reason the song book was slightly damaged! Again without hesitation, customer service gave me the nod to go ahead and crack the seal on the original damaged product and swap out the song books. It doesn't sound like much, but it really was, again for the fan / collector (that's you, right?).

I was stationed in Europe from 70-72. Listening to Pink Floyd was a way of life, while living in the barracks. I rotated back to the states in 72. My next duty assignment, was Ft. Huachuca, Arizona. To my glee, Pink Floyd's world tour was ongoing, and coming to Tucson.. I was able to get a ticket for the concert in Tucson, September of 72. I've attended many a concert throughout the years, but this concert was the most memorable. Back in 72, there was festival seating, so when those doors opened, everyone rushed for a spot on the floor, those who didn't brave the rush, sat in the arena seats. When the band came out, the very first thing they did was take a deep breath and laughed. Don't know what they've could've been inhaling. lol. Towards the end of the intermission, everyone on the floor was chilled, then a faint sound started to reverbrate throughtout the arena. It was a heartbeat, but so faint that people were kinda just looking at each other and themselves depending on their situation. What I didn't notice, there was a guide wire running from the center front of the stage to the rear top of the arena. As the heartbeat grew louder, everyone started to yell, arena went dark, then out of no where a small object, light shining on it, looked like a plane, came down the guy wire and crashed into the stage with a huge explosion, simultaneously the smoke generators kicked in along with the lighting effects on stage. Through all this, their stood the band, seeming to appear out of nowhere. What a concert!!
