This great album of songs is for me, five great songs that are a preamble to the sixth song that has spoiled me for all other songs. Listening to Echoes, the bass beat, words fail me. My body hums for thirty minutes after the song is over. And I’m not even going to talk about David Gilmour’s guitar solo. The song is the anthem of the ‘20’s. I bought this album years ago at a record store, and I just bought 2 more here for back up.

Echoes is the song for the ‘20’s. I love its unhurried and cohesive nature. I’m always transported elsewhere as I listen to it.

I've been a fan of Pink Floyd since inception. That's a lot of years or decades! Meddle has always been a personal favorite with Echoes. Drove my folks nuts playing it over and over until I wore them out! This album has always had great composition and meaning for those who really understand the message.

How do you review an album like this? The last pre-DSOtM releases. Without Meddle, we don't have Dark Side, so this is a critical release in the Pink Floyd discography. The entire album is a sonic attack that we only previously saw on Obscured by Clouds. Every track resonates with me and One of These Days is a staple of live band and solo performances. That said, I have to say that the only down side, sonically, is the whale screams in Echoes. That song is brilliant, but for the whales. Totally stands up today as an epic.

I'm embarrassed to say I wasn't familiar with this masterwork. It was a long time go and my musical tastes lay elsewhere. Recently, I took up the guitar and I love DG's tone so I have been listening to a lot of Floyd. I picked this up to add to my collection and was chagrined to learn what I had been missing all these years. At least the situation has been rectified. Buy it.
